Missions & Ministries

Baptist Men
Once a month our men get together over breakfast for devotions, prayer, and discussion on ways to support our church and community through service.http://www.vbmb.org/glocalmissions/baptistmen.htm
Vacation Bible School
As one of our outreaches to the community, VBS offers fellowship, Bible study, and the Gospel message. VBS has opportunities for all ages to get involved, both as workers and as participants. This year’s Saddle Ridge Ranch VBS made a solid impact on our church and community.Pictures/Pages/Saddle_Ridge_Ranch.htmlshapeimage_3_link_0
Tender Loving Care Ministry
This group provides monthly contact to our senior citizens and shut-ins through cards and letters. They also offer activities at the church, as well as deliver dinners to people in the area. Cookies and treats are a welcome gift to the elderly as this group visits and cares for some very special people.

Sunday School
Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. every week. There is a place for everyone to get connected with other believers in a small group setting and learn about who God is and how we can understand & apply His Word in our lives.
Children’s Church and Nursery Workers
This is a volunteer program that provides child-care during the Sunday morning church service. You can rest assured that we take precautions in order to protect your children. Each individual that works with children is required to fill out an application and subject to approval after a background check is performed.
Soul Desire
Our student ministry is active in serving students in grades 6-12, providing them with opportunities to grow in their relationship with God and with other believers. For more information click here.http://www.ogbcfamily.org/souldesire.htmlhttp://www.ogbcfamily.org/souldesire.htmlshapeimage_7_link_0
Music Ministry
Psalm 11:4 says, “Come before His presence with singing!” Touching hearts and lives through music is a very effective ministry. Our church offers a choir and a worship team.
Kitchen Ministry
When there is a need in our church or community, our Kitchen Ministry reaches out to offer meals and dinners at our church.
Home Missions
When a need for help arises, a group will go and offer services in the area of construction or ministry.
Local Transformers
This group works on houses in the community that are in need of repairs, like wheelchair ramps and roof repair.http://www.vbmb.org/glocalmissions/transformers.cfm
Community Visitation
Every week Thursday at 7 pm we have a small group that visits people in the community, talking with people about the love and salvation Jesus offers, inviting them to church and offering our friendship and fellowship.
Harvest Party
Each October we have a great time at the Dyer center playing games, eating corn dogs and funnel cakes, fellowshipping with many from the community, and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This has become a fall tradition of our church and serves as a very positive connecting point with our community.
Foreign Missions
Spreading the Gospel wherever the Lord leads, this ministry focuses on evangelism, but serves through construction, painting or whatever is needed.
Women’s Missionary Union
On the first Tuesday of every month, the WMU meets to pray for missionaries working at home and abroad. We discuss ways to support these missionaries and ways to support our home community. This is a nice opportunity for the women to work on mission projects, worship, and fellowship together. http://www.wmu.com/index.php?q=content/adult
Homeless Ministry
Once a month, a group makes a short trip up to Fredericksburg to feed and resource the local homeless and underprivileged. We serve by caring for the physical needs of these brothers and sisters and we enjoy every opportunity to talk about Jesus.
Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child)
This Franklin Graham sponsored program collects Christmas shoeboxes for children in other countries, and it requires everyone’s help to make it happen. Our church serves as a Relay Center: we put in extra time during the week before Thanksgiving, collecting shoeboxes from other churches in the community and transporting them to the Collection Center in Fredericksburg. http://www.samaritanspurse.org
